Peter Harteveld
CEO – Managing Partner
Peter started the business in his early 20’s after starting in the HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) right out of high school. Peter has trade and business education from various institutions but settled on BCIT for Business and Marketing. Besides running the business and overseeing the transformative growth Peter has served on executive boards like the Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, RACCA and various youth sports organizations.
Chris Bradbeer
VP of Field Operations
Chris started in our industry as a graduate of the Mechanical System Engineering program at BCIT. He spent 2 years as a balancing technician before entering the HVAC and Refrigeration industry. Chris joined CustomAir in 1995 as a 3rd yr apprentice technician. Once becoming a red seal HVAC/R technician and Class A gas fitter he continued to gain experience on the vast array of systems that CustomAir has designed, installed and continue to maintain. Chris’ career and position at the company have evolved over the years, helping the company grow from 10 technicians in 1995 to over 100 technicians today. In 2018 Chris became our Vice President of Field Operations and oversees the technical side of the business. When Chris is not at work he can be found with his friends and family on a lake, on a mountain or watching his children play sports.
Erwann Michel
Operations Manager
In 2008, Erwann started his career at CustomAir in the field and quickly moved into administration. Through his time Erwann was able to gain his accounting designation (CPA, CGA) and worked in operational finance. Erwann has now moved into heading up our finance and accounting departments.
David Howell
Project & Operations Manager
David joined CustomAir in 2021 through the acquisition of Britech HVAC in the Okanagan. After completing his post secondary education at Napier University in Scotland, David went on to gain 25 years project management and business development experience at a Management and Director level with 15 of those in the HVAC industry. When David is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, flying, and as a Reserve member of the Canadian Armed Forces instructing the local Air Cadets.
Jeff Kawaguchi
Director of Regional Operations
Jeff started with CustomAir as an HVAC/Refrigeration apprentice in 2000 and obtained his Refrigeration TQ/IP status in 2005. He moved into being a field foreman and in 2007 began overseeing business development in the Sea to Sky Corridor. In 2014 Jeff also began overseeing the Okanagan and Interior regions. Jeff is now the Director of Regional Operations.
Greg Tobey
Director of Sales
Greg started with CustomAir in 2013 and built upon CustomAir’s foundation of exceptional customer service and is now Director of Sales. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from York University where he completed his post-secondary education. He specializes in territory development and relationship management. When Greg isn’t busy assisting clients, you can find him somewhere in the Pacific Northwest camping with his family.
Megan Carriere
Sales Manager
Megan joined CustomAir in 2014 when she started coordinating and building the contract/inside-sales department, which she now supervises. Megan holds multiple certificates in sales, leadership and marketing and brings over 18 years of customer service experience to the team. She enjoys chauffeuring her soccer superstar son around the province, and when she can get away she heads to her cabin in the US to spend time with family and friends.
Sabrina Heselton
Human Resources Manager
Sabrina joined CustomAir in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Certificate in Change Management. With over 10+ years HR experience and 25+ organizational experience, her niche experience in structure development is geared to support and encourage company growth and has built a strong foundation for CustomAir’s progress. Sabrina can be found biking through the hills of the Okanagan where she works remotely as the jumping point to support all five CustomAir locations.
Matt Hastie
Accounts Receivable & Billing Supervisor
Matt started with Custom Air in 2020. With an extensive background in accounting, Matt started as a billing clerk and shortly after moved into the supervisor position overseeing both the Billing and A/R departments in our Port Coquitlam, Penticton and Kelowna offices.
Fiona Simpson
Service Centre Supervisor
Fiona started with Custom Air in 2013. With an extensive customer service background, she started as a service coordinator and shortly after moved into the supervisor position overseeing the coordinators in our Port Coquitlam, Penticton and Kelowna offices.
David Parr
Senior Technical Advisor
David joined CustomAir in 2019 and is a Red Seal Refrigeration Journeyman as well as an A gas fitter. He started his HVAC career in 1981 working for a national HVAC service provider, then as a branch manager, followed by owning his own HVAC service company for 29 years. When David is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, his two dogs and the outdoors.
Blaine Michaud
Electrical Division Manager
Blaine joined Custom Air in 2021 by way of acquisition with Britech HVAC Ltd., bringing over 30 years of experience in the construction, electrical, building automation and HVAC industries. His accreditations include Master Electrician red seal certification with an FSR B electrical contracting license in the province of BC and Alberta, TECA (Thermal Environmental Comfort Association) Ventilation Guideline Certification and Level 1 EOCP (Environmental Operators Certification Program) with experience in small wastewater and water systems and various others.
Blaine enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors and coaching his boys in their chosen sports.
Erika Smith
Sales Coordinator
Erika joined CustomAir in 2013 starting as a Service Coordinator, moved to Service Supervisor and has since taken on the responsibilities of overseeing and supporting our Thompson/Okanagan inside sales team as well as supporting our outside sales team. When Erika isn’t busy looking after customer care you can often find her on the golf course in the sunny Okanagan or fishing its beautiful lakes with her husband and puppy.
Blaine Carver
Service & Technical Advisor
Blaine joined the CustomAir team with the acquisition of Britech in 2021. Blaine began his HVAC career in 1994 and holds a red seal Refrigeration Mechanic TQ & class “B” gas fitter certificate. Blaine enjoys travelling and the outdoors. When he is not working he is usually found camping, fishing, or boating with family and friends.
